Information you give us

When you build a plan, you may share details such as when you hope to buy, the state and ZIP code you’re looking in, your household income, savings, an estimate of your credit range, your monthly debt payments, and your target home price. These are your own estimates — we don’t pull your credit or bank data at this stage.

If you choose to save your plan, we collect your email address. If you ask us to fast-track you to a coach, we collect your name, email, and (optionally) your phone number and timeline.

Information collected automatically

To understand how people find us and improve our service, we collect basic technical and referral information — such as a randomly generated visitor ID, the link or campaign that brought you here (for example, UTM tags or the referring website), and general device information.

Cookies, analytics & advertising

Like most websites, we use cookies and similar technologies. Some are necessary to keep you signed in and make the site work. We also use Google Analytics to understand how people use our site and Google Ads to measure how well our advertising works — for example, whether a visit that started from an ad led to building or saving a plan. These tools may set their own cookies and collect information such as your device, approximate location, and the pages you view. We use this to improve the site and reach more first-time buyers who could use our help.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s opt-out browser add-on, and manage ad personalization in your Google Ad Settings. You can also email us at the address below to opt out of analytics or advertising tracking.

How we use your information

• Have a HomeStart coach reach out to help you with your next steps.
• Match you with local agents and assistance programs you may qualify for.
• Understand which marketing channels work, and improve our site and services.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

• Service providers that run our infrastructure on our behalf — for example, our database host and the internal messaging tools our team uses to follow up with you — under agreements that limit how they may use your data.
• HomeStart’s affiliated services (such as our brokerage, mortgage, and title teams, and Pathway Homes) when doing so helps move your plan forward. Where these involve referrals between affiliated companies, we’ll provide any disclosures the law requires before you proceed.
• Legal and safety reasons — if required by law or to protect our rights and users.
• Analytics and advertising partners(such as Google) that help us measure site usage and how well our ads perform, as described in “Cookies, analytics & advertising.”

A note on financial information

The numbers in your plan are estimates you provide, used to give you a directional view — not a loan decision or a guarantee of any terms. If you later choose to verify your information (for example, connecting financial accounts or authorizing a credit check), we’ll ask for your explicit consent and explain it separately at that time.

Your choices

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your information, or to stop contacting you, at any time. Just email us at the address below and we’ll take care of it.

Data retention & security

We keep your information for as long as needed to provide our services and meet legal obligations, then delete or de-identify it. We use reasonable measures to protect your information, though no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

Children

Our services are intended for adults (18+) and are not directed to children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services grow. When we do, we’ll revise the “last updated” date above.
